Why does NormShield Hotpoint Agent Update fail?

When updating the portal or agent the agent update fails. There are more than one possible causes of this problem. Please check the following items;

  • Make sure that license is valid by successfully logging into the on-premise NormShield portal without any license expiration problems
  • Make sure that nsagent local user exists and it is a member of local Administrators group
  • Make sure there are exclusions for NormShield Hotpoint installation directory for any Anti-Virus scanners
  • Make sure you can connect to returns 403 Forbidden when loaded in browser
  • Make sure Windows "Application Experience" service is running against weird System.exe file lock problems
