Which Actions Should I Take After I Change NormShield Portal's IP Address?

After changing the IP adress of the portal machine, you have to make sure that the connections between the NormShield Hotpoint agents and the portal, between users and the main Portal is sound and working. Here are the checklist items;

  1. If users use raw IP addresses to connect to NormShield Portal, Application URL settings value under Admin->Settings->General Settings on the NormShield Portal should also be changed to the new IP address. Otherwise, no change is needed since the URL will be resolved to new IP address.
  2. If NormShield Hotpoint agents use raw IP addresses to connect to NormShield Portal, NormShield Server URL settings value under Manage Agent -> Configure Agent on NormShield Hotpoint should also be changed to the new IP address. Otherwise, no change is needed since the URL will be resolved to new IP address.
  3. All outbound services (such as remote vulnerability scanners or SIEM) connection rules should be allowed for the NormShield Hotpoint agent if the agent IP address has been changed, too. This is true for Active Directory, too for the NormShield Portal machine.
  4. For updates 80/443 outbound traffic should be allowed from NormShield Portal and Hotpoint agents towards api.normshield.com
