How Can I Increase the Maximum Size of Accepted Scanner Report Upload?

NormShield supports 70MB as the upper limit for a vulnerability scanner report output to be uploaded successfully. This number is high enough for most of the installations. However, there is always a possibility that users may want to upload scanning reports bigger than 70MB.

The limitation is applied through the Web.config file of NormShield IIS web application installation. So the solution for increasing the maximum size of the accepted vulnerability scanner report upload will involve editing this configuration file.

An example configuration is shown below for a maximum size of 500MB.

   <location path="Scan">
    <system.web>
      <!-- 500MB in kilobytes, default is 4096 or 4MB-->
      <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="500000" />
    </system.web>
    <system.webServer>
      <security>
        <requestFiltering>
          <!-- 500MB in bytes, default is 30000000 or approx. 28.6102 Mb-->
          <requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="524288000" />
        </requestFiltering>
      </security>
    </system.webServer>
  </location>
